Green Tech Industries, a pioneering EV battery recycling firm, is gearing up for significant growth. Just eight months after settling into their new facility at Sucham Park, Southam, the company is poised to double its workforce from 10 to 20 employees. This expansion is a testament to their innovative approach to recycling EV batteries, which involves stripping, repurposing, and recertifying components for reuse in the supply chain.
The company's CEO, Tony Booth, a Coventry native, envisions a Midlands-based technology hub and center of excellence. Booth's journey began with a keen eye for the expanding green economy and a desire to address waste and recycling challenges. Since 2018, he has been refining processes to strip batteries, repurpose components, and recertify them for resale. Booth emphasizes the importance of local talent, aiming to hire from the region, including those without prior engineering experience.
The upcoming factory will serve as a demonstration of GTI's capabilities, showcasing their ability to salvage and repurpose EV batteries. Booth highlights the current issue of vehicles being written off due to unfixable issues, emphasizing the potential for recycling and reuse. This expansion not only strengthens Green Tech Industries' position in the market but also contributes to a more sustainable future by reducing waste and promoting the circular economy.
