A life well-lived and a legacy to cherish - that's the story of Michael (Mick) Timon, a beloved figure in the Midwest Radio community. Mick's journey has come to a peaceful end, leaving behind a trail of memories and a family who will forever hold him dear.
On November 13, 2025, Mick passed away at Galway University Hospital, leaving a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret, and his siblings Frank and Kathleen, as well as his daughter-in-law, Abigail.
But here's where it gets controversial... Mick's passing has united his family and friends, including his sons Michael and Darren, daughter Georgina, and grandchildren Amelie and Jimmy. They, along with Mick's brothers Christy, John, and Tommy, sister Josephine, partner Lizzie, and an extended family of brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, will mourn his loss.
And this is the part most people miss... Mick's funeral arrangements are a testament to his life and the love he inspired. Reposing at Gaynor's Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 19th, from 5 pm to 7 pm, followed by prayers and a reception at St. Patrick's Church, Castlerea, will provide a space for reflection and remembrance. On Thursday, November 20th, at 11 am, a Requiem Mass will be held, after which Mick will be laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Castlerea.
For those unable to attend in person, the Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on Gaynor Funeral Directors' Facebook page, ensuring that Mick's memory reaches far and wide.
